STRP Legislation deferred until Jan 6

Below is an email sent from Burkley Allen on 12/3/14:

To all the people who have shown an interest in the short term rental legislation,

Last night I deferred the proposed legislation for 2 meetings to allow time for me to work with Metro Legal and Metro Codes on details of the permit process.  It will come back up in January and hopefully any remaining confusion will be cleared up.

In the meantime, I will be meeting with Metro Finance and the County Clerk's office to try to be sure that we are issuing a consistent message with regard to collection of taxes.  It is my understanding that the finance department is looking for November forms for the taxes collected in October and will follow up only with people who do not respond to the letter that was sent out.  I've been told that a website called Hot Spot can set up the payments for STRP operators pretty quickly, and I believe that Air BnB is possibly setting up their website to collect and remit the taxes.

I appreciate all the feedback I have received on this very complex subject, and I have tried to incorporate as many of the ideas as I can.

Wishing you a happy holiday season,

Burkley Allen
